I am primarily interested in philosophy of mind, epistemology, and metaphysics. I also have secondary interests in social philosophy and moral psychology as they intersect with my primary areas of interest. Generally speaking, I want to investigate how our relationships with others and with ourselves through time bear on what we’re justified in believing about ourselves and about the world, and what kind of actions those beliefs motivate. My research thus far has focused on questions regarding self-conception, self-knowledge formation, and agency, particularly in the context of our relationships with others. This has led me to a cluster of questions in philosophy of mind around mental causation, perception, and attention, questions in epistemology around belief formation, and questions in social philosophy and moral psychology around agency (particularly feminist accounts of procedural agency and agency under oppression).
